£5000 PIP Vouchers Coming in 2024 : The Department for Work and Pensions has modified rates for the PIP and has launched a new list of amounts and dates. Personal independence payments (PIP) are the money given to people suffering from long-term health issues or disabilities. On 8th April the amount of PIP was increased by 6.7% to help families.

The new PIP will remain the same until 31st March 2025. People can get an amount of PIP monthly as low as £28.70 and as high as £184.30. Additionally, one doesn’t have to pay any tax on PIP payments. According to records, about 3 million people in the UK are benefiting from the PIP scheme.

The new PIP rate will come into effect in April 2024 and will be valid till March 31, 2025.

5000 PIP Vouchers Coming in 2024: Eligibility criteria

To receive PIP payments, applicants should meet the eligibility criteria:

A candidate is eligible if he or she suffers from a physical or mental illness.
One should be a UK citizen or permanent resident of the UK. One should have been struggling in performing daily activities for at least three months and it is expected that the condition can be the same for another 9 months.
PIP is not taxed and it is also not affected by income or assets therefore everyone with the above limitations can get the benefit of PIP.

£5000 PIP Vouchers Coming in 2024: changes in PIP payments

From now on, people will get additional money between £5,000 to £11,000. The government spends roughly £22 billion each year on PIP. Additionally, in the next 4 to 5 years, it is expected to increase PIP payments by 50%.

The new standard rate of PIP for daily living components is £72.65 per week which is increased from £68.10. While the enhanced rate of daily living component is £108.55 per week which is increased from £101.75.

Similarly, for mobile components, the new standard rate is £28.70 per week which is escalated from £26.90 and the new enhanced rate is £75.75 per week which is escalated from £71.

£5000 PIP Vouchers Coming in 2024: New dates and amount

PIP payments are made weekly. The payments that have been made before 8th April 2024 will be distributed based on old rates. However, the new rates will affect from 15th April to 19th April 2024.

The new PIP rates will be effective from 31st March 2025.
From 22nd April to 26th April, PIP will be made according to the old rates for two weeks and then the new rates will be applied for the next two weeks.
From 29th April to 3rd May, PIP will be made according to the old rate for one week and then the new rates will be applied for the next three weeks.
Furthermore, after 6th May, the PIP payments will be made for four weeks.

Also, PIP cash can be replaced with vouchers and grants from 22nd July.

Firstly, sign in to your gateway account on the PIP website and then fill out the application form by entering all the required information.
If you have a paper form then mail it to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) with your address.
To support your claim, you will be required to attend a medical assessment.
Once you apply successfully with the supported documents then you will be notified by the authority if your claim has been approved or rejected. If approved, then you will easily receive your payment.
One can renew a claim in the last months of the claim period by undergoing a medical assessment.
